I am writing this letter in order to document the credit and financial services that I received from Dave at CMS Financial Solutions in 2008.  I originally came to Dave because I wanted to buy a house, even though I didn’t really believe I’d actually be able to purchase one on my own.  I’m an intelligent, well-educated woman but I had made a great many financial mistakes when I was young, as well as some even when I was not so young.   I had often paid bills late, defaulted on a loan,  and accumulated so much debt with such high interest rates that I had to consolidate;  I wasn’t even able to have an open credit line for the five years it took me to pay it off.  I didn’t know my credit score, but I knew it was going to be bad!

When Dave first pulled up my credit record, there was a very interesting complication—even though I had paid off my debt, somehow my mother’s entire credit record had become conjoined with mine.  All of her open accounts were showing up on my record!  Our names are very similar and we lived in the same home for many years, so somehow Experian mixed us up. Therefore, I kept getting denied every time I tried to open a credit line on my own because my mother owed over $25,000.  My credit score was 588.  Dave had a lot of work to do with me!

I had avoided dealing with my credit record for years because I was too embarrassed to talk to anyone about it.  I felt a lot of shame for having been so irresponsible with money.  However, working with Dave really changed all of that.  He dealt with me in such an open, non-judgmental manner that I felt comfortable talking about everything.  I trusted him immediately because he really seemed to know his stuff and he was always very professional.  He taught me everything I needed to know in order to improve my situation, and he was supportive of me throughout the entire process, which took a lot of patience on his part because I had started out with such a negative attitude about my finances.  I feel that Dave is a person of good character who is very well-suited to his line of work.

I am proud to say that my credit score is now up over 700 and still climbing!  I have two credit cards which I use very carefully.  Because I am now well-educated about money I have been able to save more than enough over just the past year for the down payment and closing costs on a house.  Dave introduced me to a wonderful mortgage broker and a realtor and have already purchased my first home!  I can still hardly believe it, and I feel as though the albatross that had been hanging around my neck has finally been removed.  I feel so much better about myself, and I have acquired a lifelong friend in Dave of CMS Financial Solutions.
